Arch Guide, operated by Arch Guide LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide:

  • Account information (name, email, password)

  • Profile information (profile photo, bio, preferences)

  • Photos you upload

  • Photo library access (Backtrack feature only): if you use Backtrack to identify buildings in your existing photos, the App accesses photos in your device photo library and their embedded metadata (including GPS location and timestamp) and transmits them to our servers to match against our building database using GPS and visual similarity. Photos processed this way are handled the same as other data described in this Policy, including the retention and security practices in Sections 5 and 7

  • Communications with customer support

Information Automatically Collected:

  • Location data (GPS coordinates during active tours only)

  • Tour history (tours taken, completion status, timestamps)

  • Device information (device type, OS, unique device identifiers)

  • Usage data (features used, time spent, navigation patterns)

  • Photo metadata (EXIF data, timestamps, location)

  • App performance and crash data

  • IP address

Payment Information: Apple processes all payments. We receive transaction confirmation only — we never see or store your payment card details.

Information From Third Parties:

  • Authentication data if you sign in with Apple

  • Aggregated analytics data from service providers

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide tour navigation and audio guidance

  • Personalize your experience and recommendations

  • Display your photos on your profile and the Discover page (if you opt in)

  • Improve our App through analytics

  • Ensure safety and prevent fraud or illegal activity

  • Respond to customer support requests

  • Comply with legal obligations

  • Use uploaded photos in marketing as outlined in Photo Sharing Terms

3. How We Share Your Information

Public Information (only if you opt in):

  • Your public profile (name, bio, photos)

  • Your photos on the Discover page

  • Tour completion stats

Service Providers: We share information with the following categories of providers, who are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes:

  • ElevenLabs — AI text-to-speech for tour narration

  • Anthropic / OpenAI (via our Q&A and recommendation services) — AI-powered tour Q&A and content generation. Our "Ask Ellie" feature is scoped to answer questions about the building or architecture currently in view during a tour. It is not designed or intended to provide personal, medical, legal, financial, or other individualized advice, and we discourage sharing personal information in your questions. Questions submitted to Ask Ellie are sent to our AI providers solely to generate a response and are not used by us to build a profile of you.

  • Spotify / Apple Music — Optional music playback during tours (only if you connect an account)

  • Crash and analytics providers — App stability and usage analytics
