Villa Primavera was designed by renowned architect Leland Bryant in 1928 for developers Michael and Isaac Mann. Bryant brought his signature Spanish Colonial Revival style to this corner location at Harper and Fountain Avenue with this three-story apartment complex.
With its distinctive Romanesque influences, the building features a dramatic square tower with an octagonal turret crowned by terra cotta tiles and a Spanish galleon weather vane at the northeast corner. The facade showcases deeply incised concrete work on the ground floor, with the main entrance accessed through an elegant raised platform defined by stone balustrades and flanked by decorative piers. Arched casement windows are framed by elaborate Churrigueresque ornament on the upper floors, while wrought iron and semi-circular stucco balconies punctuate the second and third levels. An arcaded loggia articulates the attic level, and the building is topped with a low-pitched roof covered in traditional terra cotta tiles. The ground level includes a partial subterranean parking garage with grillwork-covered openings.
